Ancestral Waterways
My Ancestors belong to the Nyikina language group who are fresh water people from the West Kimberley region along the Fitzroy River. The Fitzroy River is of great cultural significance to my Ancestors and the surrounding language groups who have lived and still live there for thousands of years. The Mardoowarra (Fitzroy River) has significant cultural belonging to my Nyikina people and ancestors.
